Career Case Study - Joseph Hodsman

Joseph Hodsman graduated with a degree in Archaeology in 2007...

Where did you graduate and what are you doing now?
University of Bristol. I'm now working as an Adjudicator for the financial ombudsman service.

When you graduated were you looking for a career in archaeology?
Initially, but the roles I was interested in undertaking (curatorship etc) were very competitive and poorly paid.

How has a degree in archaeology benefited your career?
Demonstrates an ability to review information and evidence and apply it logically and systematically to a given task/project.

Would you go back into Archaeology later down the line?
I remain interested in the field and would pursue from a hoppy perspective
